Other Gifts

Any gift to Charlotte Country Day, no matter how large or small, is an important one. Gifts to the school can come in the form of assets other than cash, such as closely held stock, real estate, tangible personal property, gifts to the library, life insurance policies, or charitable trusts.

Gifts In-Kind

Gifts of tangible personal property such as art, antiques, musical instruments, or other items that can be used by CCDS for educational purposes are welcomed. You will receive an income tax deduction for the market value of the property based on an independent appraisal.

Gifts to the Library

Since 1995 Country Day has recorded more than 400 gifts from parents and friends to the school's libraries totaling nearly $16,500. These gifts are generally used to purchase books in memory of a loved one or in honor of a child's favorite teacher(s). If you're interested in giving a gift to the library, contact the appropriate division librarian and she will use your contribution to purchase a suitable book. Next, the librarian will notify the Advancement Office of your contribution. You will be sent an acknowledgement of your gift and a tax-deduction notice for your contribution.

Life Insurance

A fully paid life insurance policy is another asset you may want to give to CCDS, by making the school the owner and beneficiary of the policy.
